These two photos show my uncle and aunty standing in the same street recreated about 40 years apart. The photo on the left was taken around 1980 while the photo on the right was taken in 2020. One of the most interesting things is that many of the colorful buildings in the background are still the same giving a glimpse of how some places can preserve their character even after decades. While a few details of the street have changed the familiar surroundings make the connection between the two moments feel special. Seeing the same location with the same people after so many years is a reminder of how quickly time passes and how valuable old photographs become.
